The nine schools
There is no passing score. Offers go to the highest composites who listed the school, until seats run out. The number below is the lowest composite that still got an offer that year. A lower score got no offer to that school. Students rank the eight testing schools and receive at most one offer. Discovery is a separate grade-8 path for eligible students whose score was below every testing-school cutoff, inside a published band for a school they ranked. Fall 2026 testing (for September 2027) is computer-adaptive, so next year's cutoffs may not sit on this same scale.

Grade 9 cutoff history

First-time 9th graders take a harder form, and each school has only a handful of 10th-grade seats. A blank cell means no published cutoff, usually because the school offered no seats. These numbers swing more than the grade-8 cutoffs.

Discovery score bands

Grade 8 only. Each cell is the inclusive composite range used for Discovery invitations to that school. The top of every band is one point under the lowest offer cutoff that year. The floor is higher at the more selective schools. A score between a school's offer cutoff and the top of its Discovery band got no regular offer there and was also too high for Discovery. Eligibility also requires a low-income household, temporary housing, or fewer than four years as an English language learner, plus a middle school whose Economic Need Index is at least 60 percent. DOE invites students after offers. Finishing the summer program is required, and a band score is not a seat. Entry falls 2025 and 2026 are not in this compilation.
