What it does
Templates let you save a Space's structure or a single task's setup and reuse it, instead of rebuilding it from scratch every time. The two are independent: a Space template captures Folders, Lists, statuses, and fields; a task template captures one task and its checklists.
Who needs it
Agencies and teams that spin up the same kind of project or the same kind of recurring task repeatedly — a new client onboarding, a weekly report — and don't want to reconstruct it by hand each time.
Why use it
What took ten minutes to set up the first time takes one click the second, and a Space template stays with your workspace instead of living only in one person's memory of how it was built.
How it works
IterDone has two independent kinds of template — one for how a Space is structured, one for a single task.
Space templates: capture a Space's Folders, Lists, statuses, custom fields, and views (never its tasks). Save the current structure as one from the Space's "..." menu's Save as Template item, which prompts for a name. Reuse it later from Use Template when creating a new Space — a searchable browser lists your workspace's own saved templates under "Your Templates" alongside the built-in Basic starters (Simple, Marketing Campaigns, Project Management, Product + Engineering, and others), grouped by category. A custom template can be deleted from that same browser; doing so doesn't affect any Space already created from it.
Task templates: capture a single task, including its checklists. Save one from the Save as template button in a task's detail panel toolbar. Manage every saved task template from Admin, then Templates (the Template Center), where you can create a new task from any template with one click or delete templates you no longer need.
Duplicate is the related but different action for copying a Space, Folder, or List you already have, reachable from its "..." menu. You choose a new name, a destination (for Folders and Lists), and how much to bring along — Everything, Tasks only, or Customize, which exposes individual toggles for due dates, assignees, attachments, followers, current statuses, views, relationships, recurring settings, dependencies, tags, automations, status settings, custom fields, subtasks, and checklists (with a separate option to keep checked items checked). A separate control decides whether archived tasks are included, and if so, whether they come back unarchived.
